Unity in Diversity

Van der Beken (federalism and legal studies, Ethiopian Civil Service U.) has expanded and updated his 2006 PhD dissertation at Ghent University, Belgium. He evaluates the capacity of the Ethiopian constitutional concepts and structures to achieve the constitutional objective of unity in diversity. Taking into account political as well as legal factors, he describes the qualities and flaws of the Ethiopian model, but also explores the potential of federal structures to accommodate a state's ethnic diversity in general.
