Rethinking Misbehavior and Resistancen Organizations

This collection of ten essays explores the intersections between misbehavior in organizations and concerted activity resisting a perceived wrong. They are written from a variety of perspectives, from employee to employer, consumer to manager, sociological and entrepreneurial. Some explore representations of misbehavior in film, others on the relationship between the labeling of misbehavior and political repression, and still others on how customers cheat companies. Not all essays look at resistance to organizational demands as misbehavior, while one explores "entrepreneurship as misbehavior." Technology has both made certain kinds of misbehavior untenable, while opening up new terrain for slacking and stealing, particularly on the Internet.
