Information Systems Research and Exploring Social Artifacts—Approaches and Methodologies

International contributors in industrial design, information and knowledge management, educational technology, and software engineering look at five approaches for research on information systems: positivist and deductive approaches, interpretivist and social constructivist approaches, case study approaches, mixed-methods approaches, and evaluation research approaches. Specific topics explored include the role of national culture in e-commerce trust beliefs, the design of personalized learning resources for disabled students, online ethnographies, and combining research paradigms to improve poor student performance.
