商品簡介
The author, a philosophy professor, placed an ad in five newspapers (between 1979-1981), and in several others in 1996. The ad announced his wish to interview participants in extramarital love affairs for a study of the causes and consequences of such affairs. He used a questionnaire and informal interviews to explore the subject; but he makes no claim that this is a scientific report no data were tabulated, and responses were not categorized. Rather, his purpose was simply to explore the subject, try to understand it, and look for ways to make extramarital affairs less destructive. He draws on the material he gathered to discuss topics such as love affairs in college, the difference between male and female love, the cultivation of love affairs, vanity and sex, and rules about behavior. No index or bibliography. Annotation c. by Book News, Inc., Portland, Or.
