For each of the 52 Sundays of the year, and for seven holy days in addition, the cycle summarizes the gospel reading for the day, then provides exemplars of sermons about it. It is composed in rhyming English verse, and its popularity is attested by its three distinct recensions and 20 surviving manuscripts from the early 14th to the middle 15th centuries. Only 23 of the days are presented here, in the standard TEAMS style of marginal glosses as well as an end glossary; in addition the Latin notes are translated, and the biblical passages provided that are referred to.
