Papers from a December 2002 symposium reflect the range of recent advances in the field, from fundamental studies of atomic-level topological criteria for glass formation through practical details of processing. The bulk metallic glasses considered are mainly Zr-based, but there is also material on other bulk as well as non-bulk metallic glasses, including silicates, chalcogenides, and colloidal glasses, with a focus on mechanical properties.
