商品簡介
Examining the development of Taiwan's National Scholarship Program for Overseas Study from 1955 to 2000, Chen (National Academy for Educational Research, Taiwan) ethnographically explores the modernization and national development discourses surrounding the program from two perspectives: a critical discourse analysis of historical texts associated with the program and analysis of present-day narratives of program stakeholders, including scholarship fellows, a policy maker, and a program conductor. The analysis is set within a post-colonial theoretical framework. Annotation c2013 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
