商品簡介
Goppel (philosophy, U. of Zurich, Switzerland) analyzes the arguments made by the governments of Israel and the US to defend what they call targeted killings, and arguments condemning it by those who call it assassination or murder. Covering in turn the groundwork, international legal justification, and moral justification, she considers such aspects as defining targeted killing of terrorists, human rights, national self-defense, revenge and punishment, forfeiture of the right to live, and the situation-dependent justifying force of consequences. She developed the book from her PhD dissertation, for which she notes neither date nor institution. Annotation c2013 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
