Dan: Do you have anything you regret about your time in college?
Michael: I wish I had spent more time meeting new people, as well as spent more time with my professors talking to them about possible career paths I could pursue in the future.
Dan: That's great advice, thanks for that. I think I better get going and try to find that book my professor wants us to read. You are about to graduate, but if I don't find this book and begin my homework I may never get to be like you!
Michael: It was nice to meet you. Good luck this year.
Daa: Thanks.
Catharine: It appears modem art has become more political than innovative.
Dan: That's my feeling too. I can't find the dreams in the works of these modem artists at all.
Catharine: A man without a dream is just a body without a soul.
Dan: Well said! What's your dream, Cathy? You haven't answered my question from the other day. Are you interested in art?
Catharine: Maybe. I intend to inherit my father's Gallery, so I must learn about art.
Dan: Family firm? Is that your dream?
Catharine: It's my future.
Dan: That's not the same thing. A dream is a desire for the future, while a job is just a way of life. There is only one dream in one's life, but there are many jobs.
Catharine: You're right. Then what's your dream?
Dan: I long to become a famous writer.
Catharine: As famous as William Faulkner?
Dan: Yeah! I also want to fulfill my dream by getting a Nobel Prize for Literature, just as Faulkner did.
Catharine: That is why you chose European Literature as your major?
Dan: Yes. I've read a lot of books in high school. But I'm still eager to broaden my horizons in college. This major brings me closer to my dream.
Catharine: Well, it needs perseverance.
Dan: Yeah. I always consider that as the essence of college study.
Catharine: I do hope your dream will come true in the near future.
Dan: You're so sweet, Cathy. I'll try my best.
Catharine: I kind of admire you for your courage in chasing your dream.
Dan: You are a brave girl. Brave enough to realize your dream.
Catharine: Maybe I should choose costume design as one of my selected courses.
Dan: I suggest you change your major.
Catharine: A piece of challenging advice. I shall think about it. Oh, time for my appointment with my tutor. Got to go.
Dan: Nice talking to you. See you.
Catharine:Me too. Bye.
