商品簡介
Involving 30 participating scholars from 17 countries, this study was conducted from 2008 to 2011; it involved several stages in an innovative sequence. Rather than beginning with interviews with news industry professionals who make the decisions about foreign content, the study instead began with analysis of the content itself and then proceeded to analysis of audiences (via opinion surveys). Finally, the gatekeeping journalists were interviewed with regard to the empirical findings--whether they could have guessed at audience perceptions, for example. Cohen (emeritus, communication, Tel Aviv U., Israel; and communications research, Yezreel Valley College, Israel) provides clear prefatory and introductory information.
