商品簡介
Nine research papers explore developing the theory and practice of analyzing discourse and sites that make use of multiple semiotic resources. Researchers mostly from the National University of Singapore present new social semiotic frameworks for analyzing a range of discourse genres in print media, dynamic and static electronic media, and three-dimensional objects in space. Their theoretical foundation is Michael Halliday's systemic-functional theory of language, which they extend to other semiotic resources. The research reported represents the early stages of a shift of focus in linguistic inquiry away from theorizing language as an isolated phenomenon.
