Women leaders addressed Anna Barbauld, Mary Carpenter, Catherine McAuley, Anna Jameson, Barbara Leigh Smith Bodichon, Anne and Blanche Clough, Clara Collet, Sarah Jane Bannister, Mary Miller Allan, et al. are shown to be concerned with questions of citizenship and social justice, and engaged in transforming education for the sake of a better society.
