Steven Hickman is a clinical psychologist and an experienced practitioner and teacher of mindfulness. He leads Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) groups working with people with chronic pain, cancer, anxiety and depression and has taught mindfulness to medical students, mental health professionals, nurses and postgraduate students in psychology. In 2002 he established the Center for Mindfulness in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California at San Diego.
