商品簡介
In 1945, Michael Hargrave, a medical student with the Westminster Hospital Medical School in London, unwittingly volunteered to assist at the Bergan-Belsen concentration camp in northwestern Germany. Bergen-Belsen 1945 is the published diary that Hargrave wrote to his mother about his experience as a volunteer at the camp, detailing the horrific scenes of the camp (where inmates were held with the intention that they would be traded for German prisoners of war) and his attempts to save as many lives as he possibly could during his month-long tenure. His first task was to help the other medical students he volunteered with bury the corpses of approximately 10,000 dead inmates. This book contains many previously unpublished articles and photographs. Distributed by World Scientific. Annotation c2014 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
