商品簡介
In 15 papers reproduced from original publication between 1979 and 2000, Kraye looks at how Italian Renaissance thinkers from the humanists Francesco Filelfo and Angelo Poliziano to the Christian Platonist Marsilio Ficino engaged with ancient philosophy; the role of classical ethics, especially Aristotelian and Stoic, in Renaissance thought; and debates about the authenticity of works attributed to Aristotle. Together they contribute to an overall understanding of the re-interpretation of classical philosophy in the Renaissance. She offers a bibliographical approach to Renaissance philosophy by examining the printing history of Aristotle in the 15th century. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
