商品簡介
For editors Font (sociology, Queens College) and Quiroz (history, Baruch College), the legacy of Cuban intellectual Fernanco Ortiz's work on Cuban culture and history offers "a fundamental pillar for a comprehensive explanation of Latin American uniqueness and continuing evolution." They present 20 papers originating from a March 2000 symposium dedicated to Ortiz that explore his life and career, as well as major aspects of his work. The papers are organized into sections on Ortiz's life and education; interpretations of Cuban history; work in social sciences and law; ideas about racial diversity, religion, and national identity; and analysis of literature and music.
