PATRICK GRAUPP
Patrick began his training career at the SANYO Electric Corporate Training Center in Japan after graduating with Highest Honors from Drexel University in 1980. There he learned to deliver TWI from his mentor Kazuhiko Shibuya. Mr. Shibuya was trained by Kenji Ogawa who was trained by the four TWI trainers sent from the US to help Japan rebuild industry in 1951. Patrick earned an MBA from Boston University while leading Sanyo's global training effort. He was later promoted to the head of Human Resources for SANYO North America Corp. in San Diego, California where he settled.
Patrick partnered with Bob Wrona in 2001 to conduct TWI pilot projects in Syracuse, NY that became the foundation for the TWI Institute which has since trained a rapidly expanding global network of over 650 certified trainers who are now delivering TWI training in the manufacturing, health care, construction, energy, and service industries in the US and around the globe. These efforts are outlined in their book The TWI Workbook: Essential Skills for Supervisors, a Shingo Research and Professional Publication Prize Recipient for 2007. Patrick is also the author of Implementing TW/: Creating and Managing a Skills-Based Culture which was published by Productivity Press in 2010, and Getting to Standard Work in Health Care: Using TWI to Create a Foundation for Quality Care published by CRC Press in 2012.
GITTE JAKOBSEN
As Senior HR Manager in the LEGO Group Learning Center, Gitte Jakobsen has a solid background in developing the workforce of the future. To fulfill her role as a learning specialist, she graduated from Arhus University in Denmark with a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology providing both a practical as well as a theoretical perspective to the Learning Center activities in the LEGO Group. She developed deep experience in knowledge transfer and organizational development systems both within marketing and manufacturing. Starting with her experience building up a LEGO marketing organization in the Czech Republic with a focus on project management capabilities and technical development and design, she has a combined 18 years at LEGO, which provides her with strong insights into how to drive and anchor training and learning concepts across the company's global activities and worldwide locations. In the last four years, Gitte has been part of the LEGO Group's efforts at development and implementation of a global job training program and has worked on it from concept to implementation. Her latest assignment is working within the high complexity areas of the LEGO Group securing the essential capabilities of the future LEGO organization.

This gave him a strong understanding into what leadership was and how to achieve good results through people in high stress situations. After the Army, John got an Engineering Degree in Manufacturing and Management at the University of Southern Denmark, creating a stronger understanding of the link between Production, Leadership and Engineering.
