Nine papers from the May 2013 conference held at the University of Crete address new directions in banking since the 2008 financial crisis, China's exchange rate policy, economic growth and inequality, and the causes and implications of housing price bubbles. The contributors investigate whether income growth has played any role in reducing inequality in South American democracies, evaluate the effect of operational currency exposure on Indian companies, analyze the credit relationship between banks and corporate customers within Poland, and propose a dynamic gravity model for global bilateral investment holdings.
