The Imtihan al-alibba li-kaffat al atibba (The Experts' Examination for All Physicians) is the oldest known Islamic medical examination, prepared by al-Sulami, the chief of medicine to the Ayyubid sultan in Cairo 596-604 AH (1200-08 AD). Gary Leiser, a historian now running an air museum in California, and Semitic language scholar Noury al-Khaledy (1918-95) offer an Arabic edition and an English translation based on the three extant manuscripts from Vienna, Bursa, and Cairo. 作者簡介
Gary Leiser, Ph.D. (1976) in History, University of Pennsylvania, is Director of the Travis Air Museum, Travis AFB, California. He has published extensively on the social history of the Medieval Middle East, including translations of the most important historical works of M.F. Koprulu.The late Noury Al-Khaledy was Professor Emeritus of Semitic Languages at Portland State University.
