Discusses changes in the demographic composition of American college and university faculties in recent years, drawing on the findings of the 1993 National Study of Postsecondary Faculty conducted by the U.S. Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics. Martin J. Finkelstein is the director of the New Jersey Institute for Collegiate Teaching and Learning and professor of education at Seton Hall University. Robert K.
