This year's bibliography contains articles from a number of new journals that have not been indexed here before. The focus is on books and articles published during 2012, but a considerable body of material for the years 2001-2011 is included that was not in previous print editions. The subject index has been greatly reduced so it is now very select but less daunting for users, and remains secondary to the detailed topical classification scheme. Among the 96 classifications are science and mathematics, political thought and ideology, classical and medieval Arabic literature, the Horn of Africa, Lebanon, Yemen, Azeri literature, and Muslims of China.
