Robert DeMott is Edwin and Ruth Kennedy Distinguished Professor of English at Ohio University and author or editor of many books, including Steinbeck’s Typewriter: Essays on His Art; Brief and Glorious Transit: Prose Poems; Astream: American Writers on Fly Fishing; and Afield: American Writers on Bird Dogs. A flyfisher for more than half a century, he is a Federation of Fly Fishers?certified casting instructor and life member of Trout Unlimited.
Dave Smith has been twice a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Poetry and once a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. Other honors include two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, and a Guggenheim Fellowship. He is Elliot Coleman Professor of Poetry and Chairman of The Writing Seminars at the Johns Hopkins University. He lives in Baltimore, Maryland.
