Nanocomposites in Wastewater Treatment

Using an interdisciplinary approach, this book provides a comprehensive discussion about nanocomposites for remediation of waste water and microbial treatment. It presents the fundamental knowledge and recent advancements for research and development. It covers biopolymers-based nanocomposites for organic\inorganic pollutant removal and techniques for decontamination of water.

Prof. Ajay Kumar Mishra is currently working as Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Chemistry, University of Johannesburg, South Africa and also as an "Adjunct Professor" at Jiangsu University, China. Prof. Mishra is a group leader of the research area for the Nanomaterials, composites/nanocomposites, water research and bio-inorganic chemistry. He has hosted several visiting researchers/scientists/postdocs in his group and a number of his postgraduate and doctoral students have been graduated with distinction. Prof. Mishra has also developed a number of collaborations worldwide including Jiangsu University, China, NIMS Japan, University of Jinan, China, University of California USA, Tue-Delft, Netherland, IISc Bangalore, India, Allahabad University, India and many more. He completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Chemistry at Department of Chemistry, U.P. College, Varanasi, India. He pursued his MPhil and PhD in Chemistry at Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi, Delhi, India. In 2006, he moved to the University of Free State, South Africa for Postdoctoral studies in the area of composites/nanocomposites. Later, he was awarded with number postdoctoral fellowships by various South African universities and research institutes. His research contribution includes his more than sixty publications in science journals having high impact factor, a number of conference presentations including Plenary, Keynote and Invited Lectures. He has also written a number of book chapters for various books published by renowned publication companies. For his outstanding research profile, he was awarded AML Medal 2011, IAAM Scientist Award 2011 and the prestigious AVI Award for 2009 for in his area of expertization. He has also served as an Associate Editor for many international journals. He has edited several books and book chapters by the renowned publishers like Wiley, Wiley-Scrivener, Pan Stanford, Bentham, Nova and VBRI Press. Prof. Mishra is also a member of the editorial board of many peer-reviewed international journals. He has been reviewing a number of international journals and member of a number of scientific societies.
