Inquire, Investigate, Integrate! ─ Making Connections to the K-2 Science Standards and the Common Core

Hagler, a writer, writing workshop leader, adjunct instructor, and educational consultant who mentors teachers and formerly taught elementary and middle school gifted and high school English, offers thematic units that connect the K-2 science standards to the Common Core State Standards in literacy and math. The units focus on discovering the world of science, and physical, Earth and space, and life science, and incorporate the inquire, investigate, and integrate process by including introductory activities focusing on the inquiry question, science activities that focus on Next Generation Science Standards, and English language arts and math activities to support skills across the curriculum.
