MARLIES VERHELST (1969) studied Dutch Language and Literature. She was working as a teacher when she won a story contest of one of Holland's major women magazines, Libelle, in 2006. She has not stopped writing stories and columns for adults and children's books since that time. The Feast for the King is her eleventh children's book and her Lemniscaat debut.
WWW.MARLIESVERHELST.NLLINDE FAAS (1985) graduated with honors from the Art Academy in Breda. She works as an animator of cartoons, as an illustrator, and an artist. She debuted three years ago at Lemniscaat as the illustrator of Pieter Koolwijk's, Flea and Spikey. Meanwhile, her illustrating prowess is much in demand internationally. The Feast for the King is her second picture book.
