商品簡介
This is volume 20 in a series on academic feminism. It is built from the assumption that current trends in academic feminism represent an objective advance in knowledge. Contributors to this volume attempt to establish such advances as redefining both gender and homosexuality as feminism and establishing that transgendered men are the appropriate people to define transfeminism. Transwomen, as well as men of various sexualities, may have other perspectives, but they do not have a say; gender research here is a synonym for a form of academic feminism. While the book's ideas of value, truth, and agency remain exclusively associated with those born female, and of false value, error, and oppression remain exclusively associated with those born male, the villain in the discourse has been renamed from patriarchy to binary gender concepts. Some contributors document improvements in the status of (cis) women, and a special section on teaching considers women in other cultures than Europe and the US. In a different context, one contributor in a non-Western culture questions whether the gender identification of women with victims is helpful. Distributed in North America by Turpin Distribution.
