Asian English Language Classrooms ─ Where Theory and Practice Meet

For all concerned with contemporary English language pedagogies, this book explores the forefront of English language teaching in Asia today. While covering the fundamental areas that every teacher and teacher trainer must be concerned with, it does so within the context of the most up-to-date ideas, examining the new formulations of standard approaches to teaching produced by ELT practitioners all over Asia. Fundamental to the book is the commitment to the interaction and interplay between theory and practice. The practicing English teacher must have a keen awareness of the theory behind their practice while at the same time the theoretical stance must be firmly anchored in actual classrooms.
