She is thrown away to live on her own at the age of fifteen, however she always found the way to make the best of it and survive the many ups and downs. Life finally takes her on the journey of what she always dreamed of-true love and the sense of belonging to someone.She falls in love for the first time and their love is like no other. There was a grand romance between them, an underlying passion. In this day and age, the unconditional love they felt for one another makes for a wonderful story, one that is all too rare and much too beautiful to let die without being told.Like The Notebook or Twilight all great love stories need tragedy and separation, as well as love, to fully touch the reader, and The Token is no exception.Their love was something unexplainable to this world due to the unusual events that occurred in their lives while together. This story is their story, a story of love; the most faithful love you have ever experienced and the fight to survive life itself. The Token is a tender novel set in New York City. It shows the struggles of an immigrant trying to make it in the big city and then continues in the beautiful country of Peru. This novel stands alone in two important ways. First, it is one of the few passionate stories written about the love and a special bond of two people and it reveals a rare but dignified portrait of a couple's loves that could continue beyond this life on Earth. Even more importantly however, the will to survive and to persevere no matter how hard life gets gives you the key to survival —a story of love and grief that pretty much sums up the notable context of most people's lives.
