Scholars from the US, Europe, and Latin America gathered in Toledo, Spain in the spring of 2010 to spend a week talking about Bernstein's philosophy. He himself attended, and comments on many of the 15 papers in these proceedings. They cover Bernstein, Rorty, and American pragmatism; epistemology and hermeneutics; good, evil, and judgment; and democratic vistas. Among the topics are two tales of pragmatism and European philosophy, beyond objectivism and relativism, an "engaged fallibilistic pluralism," Bernstein on Deweyan democracy, and a Deweyan reconstruction of Bernstein between Habermas and Rorty.
