Geraldo Valerio was born in Brazilin 1970. He graduated from the School of Fine Arts, at the Federal Universityof Minas Gerais. He received a Master of Arts degree from New YorkUniversity. Geraldo's bold illustration style has garnered many awards forchildren's picture books in Brazil, Portugal, Canada and the United States.
