Countering the mythology that the law in a malignant force opposed to kids having any fun at all, he argues that there are some very straightforward principles in the law on outdoor activities. While criminal law is occasionally invoked for serious wrongdoing, he finds, most cases are civil claims for compensation based on common law principles of tort and of statute.
