Author Heinz-Dietrich Fischer presents readers with a survey of Pulitzer Prize winning journalism, photojournalism, and editorial cartoons covering Asia from 1932 through to 2003. Entries include coverage of the aggression of Japan in China in 1932, India’s struggle for sovereignty in 1948, the first phase of the Vietnam War in 1963, the change of government in Indonesia in 1966, the Indochina boat people fleeing for Thailand in 1977, the fall of Marcos in the Philippines in 1986, the fall of Saddam Hussein in Iraq in 2003, and many others.
