Lean for the Cash-Strapped Leader ─ The Path to Growth and Profitability

This book is intended to help struggling leaders and managers, convinced of the benefits of Lean but bereft of budgets to hire full-time consultants, to start substantial change in their company and to begin to reap Lean benefits. It is designed to help owners of small businesses or senior managers of larger ones make their enterprises more efficient, more productive, and ultimately more profitable. At once a how-to manual and a strategic management guide, the book lays out, in simple English, all the steps in implementing Lean, from formulating a strategy and managing organizational change, to establishing a kanban-driven, level-loaded production system.

John Madigan received his B.A. degree from the University of Denver. While at Wiremold’s Chicago plant, he held management positions in both materials and operations. John likewise benefitted from Lean training delivered by Shingijutsu and Moffitt and Associates. After Wiremold, John performed Lean implementation consulting and training for seven years at various companies—from small privately held companies to Fortune 500 companies.
