作者簡介
Mark D. Jacobs is Professor of Sociology at George Mason University, where he has also served as Founding Director of the first interdisciplinary PhD program in Cultural Studies in the U.S. He has written Screwing the System and Making It Work: Juvenile Justice in the No-Fault Society (Chicago, 1990); collaborated with Gerald Suttles on Front Page Economics (Chicago, 2010); and co-edited Culture, Communication and Creativity (Peter Lang, 2014) with Hubert Knoblauch and Rene Tuma. With Lynette Spillman, he co-edited a special issue of Poetics on "Cultural Sociology and Sociological Publics" (33:1, 2005). He has chaired both the Section on the Sociology of Culture of the American Sociological Association and the Research Network on Culture of the European Sociological Association.
Nancy Weiss Hanrahan is Associate Professor of Sociology at George Mason University with research specializations in cultural sociology, sociology of music, and critical theory. She is the author of Difference in Time: A Critical Theory of Culture and the forthcoming Musical Discovery: Aesthetic Value in the Age of Digital Reproduction, which explores musical discovery, new modes of listening, and aesthetic experience in the digital music world.
