Global Perspectives on Crime Prevention and Community Resilience

This proposed edited volume includes updated articles presented at the International Police Executive Symposium’s 25th annual meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria in July, 2014. Practitioners and academics representing nearly 30 countries presented academic papers in a participative dialogue on global crime prevention initiatives and best practices in building community resilience. The book will include 19 chapters from police leaders, practitioners and academics around the world in efforts to demonstrate effective strategies for the prevention of crime and innovative techniques in assisting crime victims. Several chapters will be dedicated to violence against women and ethnic minorities.

Dr. Diana Bruns has nearly 20 years of experience in higher education teaching in the areas of criminal justice, criminology and sociology at seven different institutions of higher education. She has been the chairperson of three different criminal justice programs over the past 15 years and has published in the areas of criminal justice, higher education, sociology, business and management. Dr. Bruns served as Chairperson for the 25th Annual IPES Meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria, July 2014.
