Lynn Powell’s earlier work has deservedly brought her prestigious prizes and a loyal following. Now, in The Zones of Paradise, Powell extends her range and raises her language to a new intensity. Lynn Powell, a native of East Tennessee, lives in Oberlin, Ohio with her husband and two children. Her first book, Old & New Testaments (University of Wisconsin Press), won the 1995 Brittingham Prize in Poetry and the 1996 Great Lakes Colleges Association New Writers Award.
