商品簡介
This law reference explains the theory, core concepts, policy issues, and practice of environmental law and presents many cases to illustrate concepts. While explaining the larger conceptual picture, the book also provides much information on individual statues and how they operate. The book includes material on the major pollution control statutes and the two other areas most often included in general environmental law courses: the Endangered Species Act and the National Environmental Policy Act. It also contains information on a major statute governing resources extraction: the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act. Part 1 gives an overview of environmental problems, then covers common law and administrative law. Part 2 outlines criteria for setting environmental standards and deals with the means of environmental protection, such as traditional regulation, economic incentives, and environmental restoration. Part 3 examines government and private responsibility for cleanup, and Part 4 covers government and citizen enforcement. Annotation c2016 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
