Vincent Pegoraro is a Post-Doctoral Researcher in the Computer Graphics Laboratory (CGUdS) within the department of Computer Science at Saarland University, Germany, where he co-instructs the courses on Ray-Tracing, Computer Graphics and Realistic Image Synthesis. As part of the Multimodal Computing and Interaction (M2CI) Cluster of Excellence, his research interests broadly include predictive rendering, (photo-)realistic image synthesis, computer-generated imagery, computer graphics, scientific visualization and visual computing as a whole. He received a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Utah, U.S.A. in 2009. Prior to his doctoral studies, he worked as a Research Engineer at the Center for Integration of Medicine & Innovative Technology (CIMIT) based in Massachusetts, U.S.A., where he led the development of a real-time rendering engine for an interventional radiology simulation system.
