商品簡介
This book contends that current approaches to innovation based on the principles of collaboration, interaction and openness, are firmly rooted in specific knowledge processes. It explores the nature and logics of knowledge types and processes supporting the development of interactive and collaborative innovation.
The geographical extension of markets and intensification of competition have led firms to experiment with novel approaches to innovation, therefore adapting their ways to invent and commercialize new goods and services. New organizational forms emerged in which innovative firms collaborate with various stakeholders as to create, absorb, integrate, and protect knowledge, the latter being distributed inside and outside firms’ boundaries. The foregoing calls for additional research on how knowledge management processes evolve jointly with firms’ implementation of interactive, collaborative and open innovation models.
This book identifies the various knowledge types and processes (e.g., creation, design, absorption, protection of tacit and explicit knowledge) involved along the different phases of the innovation process (i.e., invention and commercialization) ; it provides operational typologies for understanding innovative firms’ capabilities (e.g., design) and knowledge structures (e.g., communities, networks); finally, it focuses on current models of innovation and discusses their main properties: e.g., innovation ecosystems, open innovation, crowd-sourcing, user-centric innovation, collaborative innovation.
