商品簡介
In this somewhat idiosyncratic work, Nnam (African and African American studies, Dominican U.) seeks to dispel Western (colonial) illusions and misconceptions about Africa. He reflects on a wide range of postcolonial realities in Africa. He begins with a brief memoir of being born and raised among the Igbo people of Nigeria, and then goes on to discuss such topics as the role of women in African society, matriarchy, religion, Islamic influences, law, tradition and values, and government. He also provides guides to Igbo names and their meanings and a collection of Igbo proverbs. Hamilton Books is an imprint of Rowman & Littlefield.
