When I looked back over my life, I began to reminisce how the hand of God was on me from the time I was conceived and formed in my mother's womb. He preserved me for such a time as now to testify of His Greatness. I was born and raised in New Orleans, La. in a home with my parents and seven other siblings. We changed residences frequently, and at every location my Dad always found us a church home. I heard messages about God, Moses, Jonah in the whale’s belly. I remember hearing about Pharaoh’s army drowned in the red sea; Mary, Joseph, the baby Jesus that was born in a manger & how Jesus died on the cross. Although I heard those messages, I had no real knowledge of the Creator of the universe, our Heavenly Father Jehovah. Mom and Dad did their best to keep God in our lives with the knowledge they possessed. In one area that we lived, at a very young age, I held the position of the Church secretary until we moved to a different neighborhood. Little did I know that would turn out to be my profession later in life. The majority of my career has been centered in the clerical field, however, my true passion is writing, and having Jesus Christ in my life, surely, He is a never ending story. He's always full of amazing events that inspires me to write.
As I grew older I did not understand anything about God the Father, the Son nor the Holy Spirit at all. Once I became an adult, I got married (just to get out of my parents house), which turned abusive and went through a divorced. After getting a divorce I lived on my own, I did my own thing, and lived a very sinful lifestyle which ended up in a very miserable adulterous relationship. I was like a lost sheep without a shepherd trying to live in this old world, blind and ignorant of the knowledge of the "One True and Living God". Then one day, God, our Heavenly Father looked down on me right where I was, a sinner, and extended His love through His Son Jesus Christ. He granted me a brand new start by His mercies and grace in my situations. The Lord called me to teach in August of 1999. I first rejected my calling, God dealt with me similar to the way He did with His prophet Jonah, only my whale was people. God rescued me, and then placed me into my rightful position in His Kingdom. Now I can give Him all the Glory and Praise for what He has done in my life. I'm very grateful to Him forever! Amen!

My name is Mattie Varnado, a native New Orleanian. In the latter part of the year 1999 I confessed in a bible class setting that I have the Holy Ghost, but have never spoken in unknown tongues. At that time I was told I was deceiving myself. In the year of 2000 the Lord, inspired me to began writing inspirational testimonies. The testimonies became so lengthy until He placed on my heart it was a book regarding His Holy Spirit. God has so mercifully blessed me with countless testimonies about Himself that I must share with the whole world.
