Tim Delaney is a Professor and Department Chair of Sociology at the State University of New York at Oswego. He earned his B.S. in sociology from SUNY Brockport; M.A. degree in sociology from California State University Dominquez Hills; and, a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Delaney has published 17 books (to date); numerous book chapters, journal and encyclopedia articles, and has been published in five continents. Among his book publications are Sportsmanship: Essays from a Multidisciplinary Perspective (editor and contributing author, 2016); Lessons Learned from Popular Culture (co-authored, 2016); The Sociology of Sport: An Introduction (co-authored, 2015); Beyond Sustainability: A Thriving Environment (co-authored, 2014); Classical and Contemporary Social Theory: Investigation and Application (2014); American Street Gangs, Second Edition (2014); Connecting Sociology to Our Lives: An Introduction to Sociology (2012); Shameful Behaviors (2008); and Social Diseases: Mafia, Terrorism and Totalitarianism (co-editor, 2004).
