商品簡介
This publication documents the exhibition Viet Nam, From Myth to Modernity, which is organised by the Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) in Singapore. It explores the ancient land diverse material culture of Vietnam, with over 200 artefacts drawn from national museums in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, as well as from private collections and the ACM's own collections. This is the first time an exhibition that explores over 2,500 years of Vietnamese history and cultural identity has been held in Southeast Asia.
The collections include ritual stone and bronze objects from the ancestral cultures of the Viet, Khmer and Cham people, architectural ceramics, sculpture and precious metalwork of Independent Vietnam and Champa, rare blue-and-white ceramics---many from the Cu Lao Cham shipwreck of the 15th century, imperial robes and confucian literati materials from the 18th century onwards and religious artifacts that illustrate the syncretic nature of spiritual life in Vietnam at this time.
