Schools As Zones of Peace in Nepal ― The Impact of Peace Education on Social Equality, Good Governance and Sustainable Economic Development in Post-Conflict Societies: Applying the Peace

Duquesne contributes to the the knowledge and practices related to peace education, which teaches the next generation in a peaceful manner and embeds explicit drivers of peace through national curricula in order to ensure the peaceability of a country in the long run. Focusing on Nepal, she takes as her case studies two schools in Phidim and two campuses affiliated with Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu, one in Phidim and one in Taplejung. She discusses peaceability, peace education, the collective dimension, working with schools and other partners, in search of the meaning of Lumbuwan and its peace, and meeting the challenges to peace education.
