Contemporary Approaches in Education and Communication

This book presents a collection of papers written by researchers, teachers, administrators, analysts and graduate students working and doing research in the field of social sciences. The scientific studies include a wide range of topics from the analysis of social science textbooks to the teacher image in newspapers, the relationship between self-efficacy and cognitive level and the role of organizational silence on the loneliness of academics in work life.

Hasan Arslan is Professor of Education at the Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Turkey. His research interests include educational administration, student leadership, multicultural education, and higher education policy.

Mehmet Ali Icbay is Professor of Education at Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Turkey. His current research focuses on the ethnomethodological account of teaching and learning in the classroom.

Alejandro Jose Gallard Martinez is a Professor and Goizueta Distinguished Chair at Georgia Southern University’s College of Education, Department of Teaching and Learning. He is also the Director of the Georgia Center for Educational Renewal. The platform for his research is to explore equity and social justice in education in general and in science education specifically.

S. Lizette Ramos de Robles is a Professor of Biology and Environmental Health Sciences in the Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico. Her research focuses on sociological and cultural aspects of discourse in the teaching and learning of science, especially in multilingual contexts.
