Sandra Walklate is Eleanor Rathbone Chair of Sociology at Liverpool University and conjoint Chair of Criminology at Monash University, Melbourne. Throughout her career she has maintained an interest in criminal victimisation having taught one of the first undergraduate degree modules in victimology. Her interest and development of a critical victimology has in more recent times been extended both substantially and conceptually to include the impact of 'new terrorism' and war. In 2016 she was appointed as conjoint Professor of Criminology at the University of Monash, Melbourne, Australia working with colleagues there as part of their Gender and Family Violence Research Focus Program. She also holds an adjunct professorial role at QUT in Brisbane (2015-18).
