商品簡介
This book contains clinical resources for the evaluation and treatment of late-acquired sounds, for those working with individuals whose speech contains errors affecting the last eight English consonants acquired by first language learners, and among those most likely to be challenging to second language learners, as well as the vocalic [r]. Each resource describes the definition, acquisition, relative frequency, errors, key environments, metaphors, touch cues, initial screening, screening for stimulability, demonstrations, phonetic placement and shaping techniques, exercises, language activities, and words lists for the sounds, as well as an illustration of using the resources in evaluations and treatment. Along with the chapter on motor learning guided therapy, this edition adds other introductory chapters consisting of a question-and-answer guide to 18 clinical topics and discussion of using evidence to guide clinical practice, the late-acquired sounds in Spanish-speaking students, and the importance of speech treatment in school settings. It expands the toolkit to include new essential clinical concepts, including evidence-based practice, Spanish-influenced English, the curriculum, and a new treatment model. The CD has been replaced with an expanded companion website with podcasts and other resources. Annotation ©2017 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
