商品簡介
The Han Yangling Mausoleum Site Museum is the burial place of Emperor Jing and Empress Wang of the Western Han Dynasty. It is a key example of Han Dynasty culture. Construction of the mausoleum began in 153 BCE and took 28 years to complete. The site is on a gourdshaped piece of land between the Jing and Wei Rivers. Today we see on the lefthand side four burial mounds of different sizes, the biggest being Emperor Jing's tomb and the next biggest Empress Wang's tomb. Eightyone pits radiate from the base of the emperor's burial mound, ten of which have been excavated and have yielded finds of over 10,000 figurines as well as remains of food, chariots, storage vessels and other utensils.
Against the background of China's “One belt, one road” cultural initiative and in response to the call for a major effort, at national level, to extend the outreach of museum education, there is an ever more pressing need to spread a knowledge of Han culture around the world.
This Englishlanguage publication provides the reader with information about the relics in the Underground Museum and the Han Yangling Archeological Exhibition Hall. It also describes the South Gate Tower and the Mausoleum's Hall for Memorial Sacrifices. It is designed to serve as a guidebook for visitors as they tour the museum and as reference material for Englishspeaking tour guides.
