This book provides a clear introduction to the main contemporary psychoanalytic theoretical perspectives. Marilyn Charles is a psychologist and psychoanalyst at the Austen Riggs Center and on faculty at Harvard Medical School, Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis, and the University of Monterrey. She serves as Contributing Editor of Psychoanalysis, Culture, and Society and has published over 100 articles and book chapters and six books, including The Stories We Live: Life, Literature, and Psychoanalysis.
