Gabriel Gaté is a French-born and trained chef with an international reputation as a cookery author, television presenter and cookery teacher. He is the author of 22 cookbooks, which have sold more than 1.1 million copies worldwide. Gabriel has also presented cookery shows on television for the past 35 years, and over the last 12 years has produced and presented 'Taste le Tour with Gabriel Gaté', a series of gourmet segments on regional French gastronomy screened during the Tour de France bicycle race each year. On Bastille Day 2000 Gabriel was honoured by the French government with 'La Croix de Chevalier dans l'Ordre du Merite Agricole' for his contribution to French gastronomy.
